After resting totally yesterday … translation: doing nothing but over-eating, I ran a decent hour today. The start was a rather steep series of hills that peaked at a place where one can look back over an absolutely glorious view.
From there it is a fast downhill for maybe two miles, then gentle, rolling gradient all the way home, which is probably another 2 miles or so.
I had expected to be quite tired from Friday, but felt strong.
It’s strange, I keep thinking I should have sore legs … but I’ve been fine. So maybe I’m making progress. This is quite welcome as I have been working consitently hard for some months now.
It was also a beautiful, sunny day … so Lynne and I decided to go to a nearby pub for a “Black Rat” in the sun. Anyone that thinks of England (or Britain) as “mud island” is sadly mistaken.
The weather has been far more pleasant than anyone would have expected. Yes, the winters can get cold. And yes, occasionally it does rain. That’s why everything is so green.
But after a day like today, one can be forgiven for thinking that inclement weather is just not a factor!
Long may it continue.
