Hill Session

Today I ran a little harder than I had intended.

Yesterday I decided not to run as when I started I felt a little “off”. I had subjected my legs to a pounding on Sunday, so it really was no surprise that I was not really up for much yesterday.

Today however, I was fully recovered and decided to push up the hill I had planned. It is not particularly difficult and separates the two halves of this particular run. Either side are about two miles of flat terrain which I just wanted to run at a relaxing pace.

I ended up running quite strongly and a little faster than my intention. But why not when you feel good?

I also was quite careful with my eating today. Last night we succumbed to a powerful Madras curry after deciding to get out and go for a rare treat. It made me feel terrible. My pulse speeded up and I was up and down all night with the need to urinate.

Today I returned to my more usual fare of fresh fruit and vegetables … and my body is thanking me for it.

A decent sleep will see me fully recovered. I plan to just do a short recovery run tomorrow and Thursday, so my legs are strong for a longer session on Friday.
