Federer Achieves 15!

Roger Federer finally triumphed over a relentless, tenacious Andy Roddick.

In doing so he now sits at the head of the rarified foursome of Wimbledon champions … joining Rod Laver (4 victories), Pete Sampras (7 victories) and Bjorn Borg (5 victories). Significantly he has now won more majors than anyone in history!

In doing so he fired 50 aces and over 100 outright winners. Yet his only break of the match came in the final set, which he won 16 to 14. Wimbledon is unique in its requirement that a winner must be two games clear to take the title … a tiebreak is not enough!

Andy Roddick was incredibly tough and tenacious, showing true grit and mental fortitude. But then so did Federer, remaining smooth and effortlessly graceful to the bitter end.

OK, back down to earth. I had a great hill run on Friday, then spent the weekend partying with close friends. What a pleasure to spend time with people we love.

Of course, I drank beer and cider … and ate meat, cheese and chips. I am determined not to become obsessive about my eating habits. The good news was that I did not really enjoy eating cooked food … and actually had cravings for fresh vegetables and water. So my system is adjusting.

I can’t wait to have a clean out tomorrow and get back on track. As time passes, it is getting easier and easier to consume what my body really needs, not what my emotions tell me I must have at all costs.

I can honestly say I have broken the back of my addiction to cooked foods.
